HazMat and DOT Training
Both industrial clients and educational institutions are seeing
increased requirements to train their staffs in the areas of
hazardous wastes management and DOT shipping regulations. Staffs
are continually been asked to accept additional responsibilities
but have limited resources to concentrate in all of the areas
that are needed. Rader Environmental Services is an extremely
competent and efficient resource in filling or supplementing
the training needs in these areas.
Rader has a particular expertise working with colleges and
universities in their hazardous waste management needs. An
area of concern we continually hear from this customer base
is the need for additional training for the generators of hazardous
waste. This includes their maintenance staffs, art departments,
agriculture departments and laboratories on campus.
Our extensive background in hands-on hazardous waste disposal
activities guided our development of a practical, affordable
approach for this training. It is computer based, stand
alone course which could easily be adapted to a university’s
web-based training program.
The program covers four major areas including; how materials
flow through an organization and how your decisions impact
the generation of hazardous waste, hazardous waste determination,
management of hazardous waste, and responding to emergency
situations. This training specifically targets the areas
the educational institutions need to focus to ensure compliance
with the regulations. It is designed for educational institutions
and is has a very practical orientation answering staffs questions-what
they need to do.
Rader Environmental Services experience in hazardous waste
management is extensive. This includes a significant knowledge-base
working with DOT regulations. This is very appropriate
for DOT training courses. Industries compliance burden
for DOT regulations is increasing by the recent changes expanding
the umbrella of individuals in the shipping process that are
required to be trained. The basic training covers definitions,
the regulatory requirements and the role of the certified shipping
agent.
